Pathon's hamstring compounds receivers' injury woes

Jeff Duncan of the Times-Picayune reports that almost overnight, the New Orleans Saints' receiving corps has gone from "strength" to "question mark" because of injuries.

Jerome Pathon injured a hamstring at practice Wednesday and joined veteran Joe Horn on the sideline for the majority of the team's two-hour workout.

Already missing was reserve Talman Gardner, who suffered a high right ankle sprain at St. Louis on Sunday. He is expected to miss two to four weeks.

The attrition was so bad Wednesday, seldom-used rookie Devery Henderson and practice-squad player Nathan Black worked with the first-team offense in order to complete practice.

Horn has been hampered for a couple of weeks by a bone bruise in his left knee. He did not participate in team drills at practice and is listed as questionable on the injury report.

Pathon was added to the injury report as questionable. Saints coach Jim Haslett said he is uncertain if Pathon will be able to play at Arizona on Sunday.
