The Draft Is Coming
Yes, the NFL season is barely over, coaches and players are playing musical teams, and now we can add the 2005 NFL Draft to our list of things to watch. Scheduled for April 23 and 24, all of the pre-draft activities are starting to take place. First of the major items will be the NFL Scouting Combine which starts Wednesday February 23 and continues through Tuesday March 1 in Indianapolis.
At the Combine roughly 330 of the top college players will go through a series of drills before representatives of the 32 NFL teams. The top players in each position will have the opportunity to increase their rating by running faster, jumping higher, and generally trying to do better than anyone else in their area. This, of course, can lead to a higher draft pick which, in turn, leads to more money.
We will be looking at the top players during the week and will also keep you up to date of what goes on during the Combine.
One last bit of information. If you happen to have NFL Network, you can watch the Combine live each day from noon to 2:00 Eastern. Additional coverage will be provided at 7PM Eastern during NFL Total Access followed at 8:00 by a rebroadcast of the noon event. We will provide the schedule for you as we approach the Combine.
