• Retired RB Ricky Williams has indicated that he is not smoking marijuana any more, having stopped over a month ago. Williams has also a) agreed to meet with Dolphins coach Nick Saban and b) indicated he may end his legal battle with the Dolphins over an $8.6 M judgement against him. A new Ricky? A returning Ricky? Or maybe just a Ricky who is now smoking something stronger. Only time will tell.

• Still another NFL player has gotten himself arrested. This time it was Jacksonville reserve LB Tommy Hendricks. Hendricks was arrested for violating a restraining order issued against him by his ex-wife. Tommy, ... Tommy, you gotta use your head. When coach said "If you want to be a starter you have to act like a starter", this isn't what he meant.
