Quarterback Sleepers for your Fantasy Football Team
"Jeff Garcia." There! I said it, and I feel better about it.
Anybody remember that Pro-Bowl QB with the 49ers? The guy who had Terrell Owens to throw to? Remember how many touchdowns they scored? Let me remind you.
2001 Season:
Passing TD's: 32 (2nd in NFL)
Rushing TD's: 5 (2nd in NFL)
2002 Season:
Passing TD's: 21 (4th in NFC)
Rushing TD's: 3 (4th in NFC)
2003 Season: (13 games)
Passing TD's: 18
Rushing TD's: 7 (1st in NFL)
Today, Jeff is the back-up QB on a team with the best group of receivers that he has ever had to throw to. With the 49ers, the drop off after Owens was steep. This is not the case with the Lions.
When Jeff gets his chance to start - and you know he will - don't be too surprised to see him at the helm, and the Lions in the playoffs.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Pick Jeff Garcia as a starting QB? No! Keep your eyes on him? Yes! If you get "out picked" and find yourself with a weakness at your backup QB...pick Garcia up the minute he gets a playing opportunity with the Lions.
P.S. I didn't get this tip from Maria Sharapova. She won't return my calls.
