Fantasy Football QB Pick - How Good is Losman? Is There Another Choice?

Buffalo has handed the starting QB job to young J.P. Losman. A rather unknown quantity, Losman represents both a great risk and a great opportunity for Fantasy Football team owners. But is it worth taking a chance on Losman?

I had the opportunity to see the Packers - Bills scrimmage this past week and can only report that Losman was, at best, unimpressive. While the raw talent appears to be there, he looked tentative in his actions, frequently unsure of what to do in a given situation.

Sure, experience may take care of a lot of this, but there is no guarantee as to how long it will take for Losman to come around, if he ever does. Meanwhile Bills QB backup Kelly Holcomb looked comfortable as he effectively led the Buffalo offense through a number of pre-selected game situations.

How Losman will perform remains to be seen. However, if he is slow to develop, the question then becomes how much of the season will Buffalo sacrifice before going with Holcomb.

Kelly had his moments in Cleveland despite woefully inadequate support from both the O line and the running game. With Willis McGahee and Co. in Buffalo, he might just be on the verge of an impressive year ... IF he gets to play. Keep an eye on him.
