What is the StatLeader Draft Package going to be like?

A fair question.

Consider this, all the Fantasy Magazines you have purchased this year are finished. Done. No new information. Why, when they were published, Travis Henry was still with Buffalo and Onterrio Smith looking forward to a productive year. Things have changed, but the mags haven't. About the best they can provide is speculation on who might be starting, but that's about all it is, speculation.

We believe a draft package should be a living document, updated continually until the beginning of the season. When you start to see the numbers, cheat sheets, recommendations and evaluation appear next week, keep in mind that they will continually be updated and added to up through the start of the regular season.

As for what's going to be in the draft package, as much or as little as you want. First out of the box will be our fantasy league specific cheat sheets. A few things to note on these:
  1. Not all game providers have finalized their scoring systems yet. If you don't see a game we said we would be covering, be patient, it will be there as soon as the scoring system is released.
  2. The names on the cheat sheets will likely move around as teams finalize who is playing where and how much. Be sure you keep checking to assure you have the most recent version available.
  3. Our ratings are based on the player's actual fantasy performance under your leagues 2005 scoring system. If you see somebody that looks to be out of place, there is a reason why they have been placed where they are. Those of you that visit here regularly know that I like to use Dante Hall as one of the best examples of this.
    • Generally ranked in the lower echelon (that means "near the bottom" to our University of Miami readers) in all publications, Hall was the third best offensive producer in ESPN Yardage Only leagues last year, finishing just ahead of Peyton Manning.
    • Despite this fact, ESPN's own fantasy publication ranks him as only the 104th best WR noting only that he might have some additional value in leagues awarding points for return yardage.
For those who want to delve a little deeper into the numbers, we will also be providing a recap of last year's player performances in the leagues we tracked and an analysis of how those same performances would look under the 2005 scoring systems. Numbers provided will include fantasy points scored, average fantasy points scored per game the player actually played in, consistency factor, participation numbers and trends, and so on.

Plus ... pay attention now, this is very important ... (thank you) ... once the season starts you get the biggest part of your membership, our weekly league specific analysis and player point projections for the scoring systems we track. (We'll list those again for you shortly.)
