Tomlinson Rushing TD streak to record 14
San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson took a pitch from QB Drew Brees and ran for a 16-yard touchdown against Denver to set an NFL record with a rushing touchdown in 14 consecutive games.
That TD broke the record he shared with John Riggins (1982-83) and George Rogers (1985-86), both of whom set it with the Redskins.
The last team to deny Tomlinson a touchdown rushing was Denver, who held him scoreless last Sept. 26.
The touchdown also tied Tomlinson with O.J. Simpson for second on the list for most consecutive games with a touchdown either receiving or rushing. Tomlinson needs to score in his next five games to match the record held by Lenny Moore, who set it with the Baltimore Colts from 1963-65.
