Fantasy Football News: Falcons Settle At Back-up
Fantasy Football News:
The Falcons have been seeking an experienced backup quarterback since trading Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans last month for draft picks - and apparently the best they could do was Joey Harrington.
Harrington signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, a little more than a month after being released by the Miami Dolphins
Chris Redman and D.J. Shockley, a seventh-round pick in 2006, are the other stellar quarterbacks on Atlanta's roster.
Harrington, 28, was waived by the Miami Dolphins on March 6 after starting 11 games for them in 2006. He completed 58 percent of his passes for 2,236 yards and 12 touchdowns with 15 interceptions for a quarterback rating of 68.2
The third overall pick in the 2002 draft, Harrington spent his first four seasons with the Detroit Lions and compiled an 18-37 record as a starter. He threw for 10,242 yards and 60 touchdowns with 62 interceptions for a passer rating of 68.1.
Fantasy Football Impact: A QB Rating of 68.1... I'm not sure even his mother could be proud. If Vick goes down in the season (wouldn't THAT be a shocker,)and Harrington becomes the starter - he is not worth even a look as a fantasy football QB.
