Ahman Green arrested in domestic violence incident
The AP is reporting that Green Bay Packers' running back Ahman Green was arrested after a domestic violence incident, the Brown County sheriff's department said Tuesday. Deputies went to Green's Ledgeview home after a 911 call ended with a hang-up Monday night. The four-time Pro Bowler was arrested at about 10:10 p.m., was taken to the county jail, posted a $150 bond and was released about 11:50 p.m. A court hearing was scheduled for May 11 on a disorderly conduct citation.

Schedule Change
As we continue our trek across the US we have run in to some rather strange weather which has caused a change in our schedule. We (daughter and I) never made it to the Spaghetti Warehouse in Columbus last night opting for a warm dry hotel after freezing and getting soaked at the OSU Spring Game (well worth it). Despite snow today, we will be at the Spaghetti Warehouse early this evening (around 5:00) after a stop at Conrad's (You Buckeye fans know what and where that is). As for the rest of the trip, Youngstown and Baltimore have been eliminated. We are spending an extra night in Columbus and heading straight for the Eastern Shore of VA tomorrow. We may stop in some place like Breezewood, PA or Hagerstown, MD depending on the weather so if you are in those areas, keep an eye out for the StatLeader van (with U-Haul attached). Also, since leaving St. Louis we have been spotted several times. Props to those who have taken the time to say howdy so far. Look forward to seeing some more of you.

Niner's Take Alex Smith with First Pick
A "good but not great" talent pool left the 49ers with little to use as bait in an effort to turn the number 1 pick into a trade. With no sure winner available in this year's draft, the Niner's were forced to use their number 1 pick, and took Utah QB Alex Smith. Coming into an organization with a history of some of the greatest QBs to ever play in the NFL - it is reasonable for Smith to feel some pressure. "I feel like I have to prove something now, which is a good thing. I havent accomplished anything on this level and I have to justify this pick because it is going to be associated with my name for the rest of my life," he said. "I feel like I have to justify it now, so I am going to go to work right away and prove it."

Still Haven't Found Me
Well here I am in St. Louis and no one has found me yet. Of course that is probably due to the odd times I have been traveling. I arrived in Las Vegas at 1:30 am and haven't pulled in to a hotel any earlier than 8:30 on the rest of the trip. Tomorrow I'll be at the Gateway Arch in the AM before heading on to Dayton. Remember, I'll be at the Ohio State Spring Football Game on Saturday. (I'll be staying in Worthington, but look for the StatLeader.com van (with U-haul attached) at the Spaghetti Warehouse on Saturday night. I'll be wearing a black Ohio State jacket and in the company of a young lady with very long blond hair (my daughter). So if you are in the area come by and introduce yourself.

It doesn't take an ESPN Insider to figure THIS out!
ESPN Insider has a story from the "rumor mill" that the San Francisco 49ers are going to shop their first pick. Duh!Not only are this years top prospects a whole bunch of ho-hum - but, in case you missed last season, the 49ers need a lot of bodies! The 49ers are a team that, if not for two game saving field goals in overtime over the mighty Arizona Cardinals, would have gone winless for the season! The Niners have been short on personnel for years now. Think about how YOU would feel if you couldn't afford to bring the same number of players to the game as your opponent? Add injuries to the mix - and the loss of virtually all of your offense, and you have a team that needs a little more than an average QB at the number 1 pick. Hey ESPN! You bet the Niners will take offers - and they will take the deal that gets them the most PICKS, because one or two players are just not going to make enough of a difference.

The StatLeader.com van is a blue and silver Ford Aerostar with a big StatLeader.com on the rear window. To make me a little harder to find, on every day except the final Thursday I'll be pulling a U-Haul trailer that will partially hide the name. I'll be handing out the free memberships at my discretion so you don't have to be the first one I see on any given day. Good luck, and as my friend Rocket Man would say "Find me if you can".

Sorry For The Lack Of Posts
There were some technical difficulties aka (connecting speeds) in Augusta. But hey congrats to Bob Reed and a guy by the name of Woods for seeing Johnny on his travels. What a tournament. On a side note I almost got to fly home from Phoenix on the Cardinals plane. Man that would have been a good story. Wishbone.

Punishment All Around
"I guess they thought working for Red McCombs was punishment enough"- It looks like Vikings coach Mike Tice will escape with just a fine for selling his Super Bowl tickets earlier this year. League rules prohibit such an activity and Tice could have faced a suspension.
"Thank God it wasn't twelve months"- Raven's CB Samari Rolle received an 11 month 29 day probation for a domestic assault involving his wife Danisha back in February. Mrs. Rolle received three stitches for a cut over her eye after the incident. Samari, how many times do we have to tell you, if it isn't wearing a helmet with a facemask, you don't hit it.
"Just when you thought it couldn't get any Fowler"- Reggie Fowler's problems raising the money necessary to obtain controlling interest in the Vikings continue. It is now being kicked around that two of his business partners might get involved it this ordeal. The names being mentioned...David Mandelbaum and Zygmunt (Zygmunt?) Wilf

A Little Delay? And Many Tears
Well, today brought rain. I can't believe this. Rain has temporarily delayed the first round of the tournament. We got up ready to go and bam. The skys opened up and dumped on us. Oh well. The players are probably upset as well. But I am so close I can smell the dogwoods, magnolias, and the greens. I hope to see some of you at the course. Today I have the red hat on. Johnny Wishbone

NFL News Items Plus Johnny at Augusta
"Johnny be good" - Our own Johnny Wishbone will be at the Masters representing StatLeader. Be the first one to find him each day and wil a full one year membership. Johnny is a good-looking young fellow, (of course not as distinguished as the more experienced members [translation: older] members of the staff). He also has the distinction of being the only staff member, other than the Crew Chief, to have a full head of hair. Johnny will be wearing one of two StatLeader/Titleist hats, one red one black. Good luck on finding him.
"Sure man, No Problem" - The South Carolina Doctor accused of selling steroids to professional athletes has indicated that he will write a book naming names - but only if they sign a release first. Given that this whole thing is a target of a Federal Investigation, we don't expect NFL players to flock to the signing table. Then again, this is the same sport that contains geniuses like the fellow that tried to swipe a laptop from an security conscious airport.
"Can we Fowler this up any worse?" - Perspective Vikings owner Reggie Fowler appears to be having a little problem producing the up from cash for the sale. It now looks like the success of this whole deal depends on Fowler's ability to sell one of his companies, SATCO. Reported purchase price for SATCO is $300 Million, roughly half of the supposed $625 Million purchase price. Gee Reggie, don't you think it might have been smart to sell this company before you tell everyone you have the money?

Augusta Here I Come
Well, Well. I am on the move! Augusta here I come. I will be wearing one of two special hats. Of course they are both golf hats that say Titleist on them. But they do have some special wording on them. Hmmm... StatLeader maybe? One is red and one is black. We are flying America West from Bakersfield to Phoenix then to Atlanta. I will wear the hats to the golf course as well. I will be present for all rounds of the tournament. You can check back for some updates on the course as-well as updates for my travels. I will be headed back late on Monday the 11th.Good Luck.

Keep Checking in on that Free Membership
As we noted earlier, our own Johnny Wishbone will be attending this year's Masters. We will be offering a few free memberships to the lucky individuals who can find Johnny while on his trip. Let's see, how about: - 1 free membership for the first person to spot him on the trip to Augusta.
- One for the first person to find him each day at the event, and...
- One for the first person to catch him on the way back to California.
There, that should make management mad at me. Stay tuned for more information, hints, and as Johnny said, maybe even a photo.

"We are like...So Surprised" - This past Wednesday I mentioned Rams' DE Leonard Little's DUI case. I noted that while other Fantasy Football sites were concerned about Little's availability for IDP leagues, we were sure that somehow the power of the NFL would make sure he was available. Now I'm not saying that the NFL would intervene in any way, just the NFL status has its benefits. Well, as Gomer Pyle used to say "Surprise, Surprise" Little was found innocent. Just for point of information, Little pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 47 year-old woman in a 1998 drunk driving accident.
"Actually, we would rather have Freddie Kreuger" - It appears that the Eagles have had their fill of mouthy and under productive WR Freddie Mitchell. Sources are indicating that Mitchell probably won't be back with the birds next year. Eagles coach Andy Reid summed it up by saying: "It's not a secret. Freddie likes to talk, and he talked too much [during the Super Bowl]. Did I like it? No."

A Double Dip from Dolphinland
The Latest Ricky Williams Non-News" - Dolphins coach Nick Saban has reported that there is nothing new to report on the possibility of former RB Ricky Williams rejoining the Dolphins. "I can tell you he's in India and I haven't talked to him, so I don't have any new information based on that" Saban said.
"Meanwhile, also in Miami..." - Coach Saban continued to be a fountain of useless information when asked about the situation surrounding QBs A.J. Feeley and Gus Frerotte. Saban delivered such gems as "You know, we have not made any kind of decision on who is going to get what kind of repetitions in camp" and "Because if you're a good player, you should be a good player regardless of how many reps you get."

Another Possible Free Membership
Johnny Wishbone the webmaster loves golf. In fact he is quite the player. He loves golf so much that he will be attending the Masters next week in Augusta, Ga. If you can spot him either on his trip from Bakersfield, Ca to Pheonix, Az to Atlanta, Ga and back on the same route you will win a free one year StatLeader membership. He will be updating the site with possible outfits, commentary, and notes of play from Augusta. Maybe even a pic or two. Thanks, The StatLeader Team
