Vick Tests Positive For Marijuana

The AP reports that a federal judge placed tighter restrictions on Michael Vick on Wednesday after he tested positive for marijuana.

Because of the result, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson placed special conditions on Vick's release, including restricting him to his home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and ordering him to submit to random drug testing.

The urine sample was submitted Sept. 13, according to a document by a federal probation officer that was filed in U.S. District Court on Wednesday.

Vick, who admitted bankrolling a dogfighting operation on property he owns in Surry County in his written federal plea, is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 10.

And the sad, sad, story continues...

McAllister Out For Season

New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister will miss the rest of the NFL season after tearing a knee ligament.

McAllister said an MRI exam Tuesday confirmed that he tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in Monday night's 31-14 loss to Tennessee.

"I didn't want to believe, but just taking that walk to the locker room you could feel it just kind of giving way a little bit," he said.

Fantasy Football Impact: Reggie Bush will become the primary back, although the Saints will probably mix in Aaron Stecker. Bush's value increases due to the extra 'looks and touches' he should receive.

Fantasy Football Update: Week #3 - BEFORE Monday Night Football!

Tired of your tight end? Pick up Eric Johnson BEFORE tonight's Monday Night Football game between the Saints and the Titans.

Eric Johnson will be one of the benefactors of an awakened Drew Brees. Yes, we are predicting that Brees will return to his pre-2007 splendor. After his 6 receptions and 1 TD tonight - you may not be able to grab him tomorrow!

Johnson has 11 receptions through 2 games - and has averaged 4 catches a game his entire career in spite of some injury issues. He's 6'-3", 27, and was a wide receiver at Yale.

He's been in the NFL for 7 years and in 2004 had 82 receptions in 14 games with the 49ers.

Fantasy Football Update: McNair to Get Start in Week 3

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair will start Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

McNair missed last week's win over the New York Jets with a groin pull.

"Steve seems to have gotten through the week OK, so hopefully it will show up that way on Sunday," Ravens coach Brian Billick said Friday. "It was just a matter of how he felt. He felt pretty good, so that was the key."

Fantasy Football Impact: Unless you are in a very deep league - McNair is not a good start this week. However, knowing how his start will affect Derrick Mason (what do you mean you haven't picked Mason up yet?) and Willis McGahee is another issue. Look for Mason to get 5 or more receptions - but no TD's; and McGahee will finally see the end zone!

Fantasy Football: Is Ricky EVER Going Away?

Ricky Williams is planning another comeback!

The suspended running back is eligible to seek reinstatement by the NFL after Oct. 1 and will do so, his attorney said Friday.

In recent years, Williams has made more headlines than first downs, playing in only 12 NFL games since the start of the 2004 season. His current suspension began in April 2006 after he violated the league's drug policy for the fourth time, and a positive test for marijuana this April delayed his return.

Williams' attorney, David Cornwell, said they spoke by phone Thursday.

"He sounds wonderful," Cornwell said. "He sounds like he's in a great place, and I'm confident that will come through to the commissioner."

It's uncertain how quickly the 30-year-old Williams might be cleared to return -- or where he would play. He remains under contract with Miami, where he won the NFL rushing title in 2002, but first-year Dolphins coach Cam Cameron has given no indication he wants Williams.

Fantasy Football Impact: Cam is smarter than he looks! Ricky is not going to have any fantasy football impact ever again.

Fantasy Football Injury List 2007: Week 1

The following is a list of injured players for Week 1 (September 6, 9-10) and the fantasy implications of all the major injuries from nfl.com:

Arizona Cardinals
OUT: DT Ross Kolodziej (knee), DT Alan Branch (knee); PROBABLE: C Nick Leckey (knee).

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Atlanta Falcons
OUT: DT Roderick Coleman (knee), S Chris Crocker (knee); QUESTIONABLE: DT Grady Jackson (back).

Fantasy take: Alge Crumpler (team decision) returned to practice and will start against Minnesota. He's a fine fantasy starter.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore Ravens
PROBABLE: WR Mark Clayton (ankle), CB Samari Rolle (ankle), DE Gary Stills (chest), TE Daniel Wilcox (ankle).

Fantasy take: Clayton has a nice matchup against Cincinnati, so continue to monitor his status. He's listed as probable, so he should start. Demetrius Williams would take over if Clayton were to have a setback.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buffalo Bills
OUT: DE Ryan Denney (foot), LB Keith Ellison (ankle).

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carolina Panthers
OUT: S Nate Salley (knee); QUESTIONABLE: CB Chris Gamble (ankle), DE Stanley McClover (thigh).; PROBABLE: LB Jason Kyle (back),

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chicago Bears
DOUBTFUL: -- TE Greg Olsen (knee); PROBABLE: WR Muhsin Muhammad (ankle).

Fantasy take: Desmond Clark could be a decent one-week fantasy starter in leagues with 12-plus teams if Olsen is sidelined. Muhammad should start, but he's no more than a borderline No. 3 or 4 fantasy wideout.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cincinnati Bengals
OUT: WR Antonio Chatman (hamstring), LB Rashad Jeanty (shin), S Ethan Kilmer (knee), DE Frostee Rucker (hamstring); QUESTIONABLE: T Wille Anderson (foot), C Eric Ghiaciuc (neck), CB Johnathan Joseph (foot); PROBABLE: WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee), K Shayne Graham (hip).

Fantasy take: Houshmandzadeh practiced on a limited basis Friday and should start, so keep him active against Baltimore. Graham should be fine, but to start a kicker who is less than 100 percent can be a risk.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cleveland Browns
OUT: LB Willie McGinest (back); QUESTIONABLE: CB Gary Baxter (knees), P Dave Zastudil (back); PROBABLE: LB Andra Davis (ankle), DE Orpheus Roye (knee), T Kevin Shaffer (concussion), G Eric Steinbach (knee), S Mike Adams (groin), RB Lawrence Vickers (hamstring).

Fantasy take: Shaffer and Steinbach returned to practice on Friday. That is good news for Jamal Lewis, who will play without a formidable pass attack to balance the offense. He's no more than a No. 3 fantasy back against Pittsburgh.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dallas Cowboys
OUT: LB Greg Ellis (Achilles), WR Terry Glenn (knee); QUESTIONABLEE: -- CB Terence Newman (foot), LB Kevin Burnett (ankle).

Fantasy take: The Dallas defense could be a bit vulnerable if Burnett and Newman are out, but overall it remains a unit to start in most formats. Glenn suffered a setback in practice and is out for at least two weeks. There have even been rumors he could be out for the season. Now is the time to add Patrick Crayton, who will start in his absence.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Denver Broncos
OUT: G Ben Hamilton (concussion), T Ryan Harris (back); QUESTIONABLE: CB Karl Paymah (concussion); DE Tim Crowder (ankle); TE Stephen Alexander (calf).

Fantasy take: Travis Henry (knee) continued to practice and will start against Buffalo. He is a fantastic option for fantasy owners.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Detroit Lions
DOUBTFUL: RB Kevin Jones (foot); QUESTIONABLE: QB Dan Orlovsky (toe); PROBABLE: RB Jon Bradley (shoulder).

Fantasy take: Jones is not expected to be active against Oakland, so Tatum Bell will start and see most of the work. He's a viable No. 3 fantasy runner.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Green Bay Packers
OUT: DE Mike Montgomery (knee); DOUBTFUL: T Tony Moll (neck), S Aaron Rouse (hamstring). QUESTIONABLE: RB Ryan Grant (hamstring), WR Greg Jennings (hamstring), RB Vernand Morency (knee); PROBABLE: WR Donald Driver (foot), RB Brandon Jackson (concussion), DE Aaron Kampman (rib).

Fantasy take: Driver and Jackson practiced Friday and should be fine against Philadelphia. Barring setbacks, Driver should be active in most formats while Jackson is a viable No. 3 fantasy back or flex starter. If Jennings is hurt, rookie James Jones would see more action. Morency would come off the bench if available.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Houston Texans

No injuries to report.

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jacksonville Jaguars
OUT: LB Clint Ingram (ankle), DT Tony McDaniel (knee), C Brad Meester (ankle), DE Kenneth Pettway (quadriceps); PROBABLE: DE Brent Hawkins (illness), G Chris Naeole (knee), DE Reggie Hayward (Achilles), DT John Henderson (shoulder).

Fantasy take: The Jaguars have some injuries on the defensive side of the football, but this unit remains a viable option against Tennessee.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kansas City Chiefs
QUESTIONABLE: S Jon McGraw (hamstring).

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miami Dolphins
OUT: CB Andre' Goodman (shoulder); PROBABLE: -- RB Reagan Mauia (wrist), LB Joey Porter (knee), DT Keith Traylor (ankle).

Fantasy take: With Porter and Traylor in the mix, the Miami defense should be at close to full strength and active against Washington.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Minnesota Vikings
OUT: S Mike Doss (calf); QUESTIONABLE: WR Robert Ferguson (ankle); PROBABLE: LB Vinny Ciurciu (hand), LB E.J. Henderson (illness), DE Darrion Scott (shoulder), WR Bobby Wade (ankle), S Tank Williams (calf).

Fantasy take: The Vikes do have some bumps and bruises on defense, but this unit remains a nice option against a Falcons offense that could struggle to score points. Neither Ferguson nor Wade warrant serious consideration as fantasy starters in most formats.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New England Patriots
QUESTIONABLE: S Rashad Baker (hand), TE David Thomas , DE Mike Wright (knee); PROBABLE: QB Tom Brady (shoulder).

Fantasy take: Will head coach Brian Belichick ever take Brady off the injury report? The new father should be fine and a solid option against the N.Y. Jets. Randy Moss (hamstring), who was removed from the injury report, should start for the Pats and is a viable No. 2 or 3 fantasy wideout.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New York Giants
OUT: RB Robert Douglas (knee), WR David Tyree (wrist), LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee); PROBABLE: DE Adrian Awasom (hip), CB Sam Madison (hamstring), T Guy Whimper (ankle), C Grey Ruegamer (ankle).

Fantasy take: It's good to see Plaxico Burress (back) back to practice, especially after he missed the preseason with the back ailment. He's a nice option against what could be a vulnerable Dallas pass defense. DE Osi Umenyiora (player decision) was taken off the injury report and will start, but the Giants defense still isn't a viable fantasy option.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New York Jets
QUESTIONABLE: CB Andre Dyson (foot), RB Thomas Jones (calf), CB Justin Miller (thigh), G Brandon Moore (shoulder), S Eric Smith (thigh); PROBABLE: TE Joe Kowalewski (finger), QB Chad Pennington (pelvis), DT Dewayne Robertson (knee), WR Chansi Stuckey (knee), RB Stacey Tutt (foot).

Fantasy take: Jones is expected to start despite his limited participation in practice. He's a viable No. 2 fantasy back, but a matchup against New England does make him a bit less attractive. Leon Washington would start if he has a setback. Pennington is fine but warrants little consideration outside of leagues that start two quarterbacks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oakland Raiders
OUT: LB Isaiah Ekejiuba (foot); QUESTIONABLE: CB Duane Starks (groin).

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Philadelphia Eagles
QUESTIONABLE: TE L.J. Smith (groin); PROBABLE: G Shawn Andrews (ankle), QB A.J. Feeley (left hand), DE Jevon Kearse (shoulder), DT LaJuan Ramsey (ankle).

Fantasy take: With or without Kearse, the Philadelphia defense is a viable fantasy option against Green Bay. Donovan McNabb (knee) isn't 100 percent, but he continues to practice and should be active in all fantasy formats. Smith was downgraded from probable to questionable following Saturday's practice.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pittsburgh Steelers
OUT: LB Marquis Cooper (hamstring); PROBABLE: QB Brian St. Pierre (toe).

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

San Diego Chargers
OUT: WR Eric Parker (toe); PROBABLE: RB Michael Turner (ankle), C Cory Withrow (foot).

Fantasy take: Turner returned to practice on Thursday and will spell LaDainian Tomlinson against Chicago. He remains one of the top handcuffs in fantasy football.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

San Francisco 49ers
OUT: S Dashon Goldson (elbow); PROBABLE: CB Donald Strickland (chest).

Fantasy take: Frank Gore (hand) should be fine to start against Arizona and is a must-start back in all formats. Darrell Jackson (hamstring) is not on the injury report and should start. He's a viable No. 3 fantasy wideout in most formats.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seattle Seahawks
DOUBTFUL: WR Ben Obomanu (hamstring).

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

St. Louis Rams
QUESTIONABLE: DE Victor Adeyanju (knee), WR Drew Bennett (thigh), G Richie Incognito (ankle); PROBABLE: S Oshiomogho Atogwe (thigh).

Fantasy take: Bennett's questionable makes him far more of a risk in all formats. However, Randy McMichael could still see more red-zone looks. Torry Holt (knee) practiced and seems fine to face Carolina.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
OUT: DE Patrick Chukwurah (knee).

Fantasy take: Joey Galloway (team decision) returned to practice and should start against Seattle. He is a viable No. 3 or 4 fantasy wideout.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tennessee Titans
DOUBTFUL: TE Casey Cramer (knee); QUESTIONABLE: C Kevin Mawae (illness).

Fantasy take: No significant injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Washington Redskins
OUT: TE Cody Boyd (shoulder); PROBABLE: LB Khary Campbell (hamstring), RB Clinton Portis (knee), T Chris Samuels (knee), T Todd Wade (shoulder), LB Marcus Washington (elbow).

Fantasy take: Portis has practiced all week without issues and will start against Miami, but he'll share carries with Ladell Betts. He's no better than a low-end No. 2 fantasy runner. The fact that Samuels and Wade both practiced is a positive for the Redskins offensive attack.
